This is by far the only place in Montreal that can satisfy my croissant cravings. With good traditional style french coffee and freshly pressed orange juice, Le paltoquet has been one of my favourite places to go for an affordable and delicious brunch. Note that this place is no Allo Mon Coco; expect small but flavourful portions.
I adore the croissants here. Personally, I enjoy my croissants doughy on the inside as opposed to fully raised croissants where the insides are flaky so Paltoquet fits my taste. Coffee wise, you can choose between regular sized cup or a bowl of coffee. They also have amazing hot chocolate for people who seek alternative drinks. Today, I got my usual Croissant Garni (which consists of fluffy scrambled eggs and bits of ham) but I also highly recommend their Toast Nordique (homemade smoked salmon on toast and sunnyside egg).
Notable mentions include their almond croissants, tarte aux marrons and their wall of imported products including sables au beurre, speculoos spread, and l’anis/réglisse candies.
